Typhoon Marwar smashed the U.S territory of Guam with high winds and heavy rain on thursday, it knocked down trees, walls and power lines and threatened. It was the strongest hit from 2002 and on Wednesday night the storm turned into a Category 4 storm at Andersen Air Force Base on the northern tip of the island, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Patrick Doll. The storm became 150 mph winds the following morning. As the storm was coming towards the island, typhoon Marwar flipped cars that were parked, made trees fall down, and made the power line go down.
Wednesday night was the most bad day. The winds were really loud and rainwater came into some houses. People had to block the water coming in. Some people didn’t have power for weeks and also had no generator. There were lots of videos on the internet with cars flipping, trees crashing, and a lot more. The storm was really slow and it continued to give effects to the island on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday it affected Guam with winds of 140 mph. One Friday, the weather service said it will keep going on.
