The tourism industry will come back to normal soon. Typhoon Mawar’s tourist population might increase quicker than originally projected, according to officials from the Guam Visitors Bureau. After the Typhoon Mawar slammed the island the tourism data went down by a lot.
Before in 1997’s Typhoon Paka, Guam had about 1.2 million visitor arrivals. After typhoon Paka, visitor numbers didn’t hit the same level until 2016. Although still lower than the 670,000 visitors expected before the storm, but GVB has changed to 550,000 tourists but it went down to 400,000.
